Are they galvanized steel or just regular ones. I'm in the rust belt and with aluminum unibody, I would prefer aluminum as well.

If I didn't need my car every day, I would have gladly left them my Defender a few weeks ago when I paid them a visit to let them take a look at it. If you are serious about it, let me know and I'll connect you guys.
I could leave my Defender there for a few days. (As long as I dont have any off road trips planned). Im only an hour away and I have been looking for some rock rails. Let me know.

@Guapo just saw their post on instagram that they are in and getting shipped

Just an update on my Lucky8 sliders. They have shipped and are on their way via freight. Once I receive them and have a chance to inspect and install them, i'll report back incase anyone is interested.

Guapo:

Yes, I am definitely interested to learn more, thank you. I am curious how easily and cleanly the Lucky8 sliders attach.

It is possible for you to attach a photo or two of what has to come off of the vehicle to install them and how they attach?

Thank you.

I'm hoping they come with some very clear install instructions. Assuming they do, i'll try and post them in this thread. Otherwise, I'll take some pics when I attempt the install. They won't arrive for me to install this weekend, and I will be out of town the following weekend, so it'll be a few weeks out.

Guapo:

Sounds great. I became inspired by your email and just ordered them. It will be worth it to protect the aluminum sills.

So, I am now on the hook to install !!

Thanks again.

Lucky8 rock sliders arrived. These things are heavy. I was surprised and pleased to see the amount of metal that will protect the underbelly.

no instructions in the box. I’m awaiting an email response about that. I’ll be traveling this weekend, so I won’t get to the install for a week or two.

is it black steel? what would be the problem installing it to an aluminum body frame?

They are steel, but they are painted. Paint on the steel and on the aluminum body of the defender should isolate them and prevent corrosion...in theory anyway.
