Yeah. what an 'opportunity'. I'd have to tax it to the tune of almost $4K right out of the gate, pay for insurance for at least a couple of months until I could sell it on. Then I'm hoping I can find a wholesaler to give me market value, but they are of course going to want to buy it low so they can turn an easy profit. The other alternative is selling it privately, but not really an option in my area of rural North Carolina. They'll line up around the block for a 1996 F-250 Powerstroke around here but nobody is going to buy a six-figure fancy pants 4x4. This all sounds like a very aggravating way to try to make 10 grand at best. Plus, I'm as frustrated as any car enthusiast over these production constraints and all the pricing insanity and I refuse to participate in it.

To be fair, I made over $9k on my ‘22 90 S and that was the P300.

Default G-Wagon pushing HEAVY premiums

About 4 months ago an AMG G-Wagon was pushing nearly 80k-100k premium over MSRP almost nationwide. With the standard V8 powered version here in the US running about 50k-70k premium.

Was just in Germany and those premiums did not exist. On military orders we can purchase US spec but long wait.

I have a D90X V8 and to be honest, it drives a bit better than the AMG. The interior of course in the G is much higher in excess comforts.

I am completely happy with my D90X V8. 2200 miles and no complaints nor issues. It is my daily driver. Wife has a D110X coming shortly in trade for her Jeep.

Different perspective. I wasn't talking about "resale" opportunity. I was talking about opportunity to buy a 110 V8 at MSRP off the lot, which is near impossible to find. I have been searching weekly for over 12 months to get a 110 V8, contacting dealers, or even to get an allocation. In the process I've called 20+ dealers, get countless emails about incoming inventory that is available, and the ones that are willing to sell a V8 to an out of state buyer are all asking minimum 20K premiums, and/or request contracts to sell it back to the dealer if you decide to resell the car within 12 months, and that's if they have a V8 in stock. However, I cannot justify blowing 20K-30K over MSRP for something that I can get for sticker by simply waiting for a build allocation from a dealer, which finally happened in June.

Most of the time, the only V8 stock available is a 90 V8 which has a limited audience because it is useless for storage and road trips with family, and very few people are going to take their $110K+ 90 off-roading to get beat up when a $30K Jeep Wrangler will do. Even still, dealers are asking minimums of $10-15K over MSRP for the 90 V8 which is odd since the aftermarket for the 90 is soft. If they sit for a month or two, they can always ship them to a dealer in CA and FL where rabid buyers will gladly pay over sticker to avoid the wait.

Dealership I used in Denver is straight-up MSRP on my D90 V8 bought May 5th and forthcoming 110 X.
