Default Second Row Seats 110 7 seater

Just wishing the second row seats were flat with the cargo floor and a bit easier to get into the locked down position. Need to jump on them once folded to get them to lock in place. A flat floor would be a great asset. I believe the 5 seater second row does not have the problem as the lower cushions fold forward (like the old LR) and then the backs fold down. Just a comment on how sometimes old actually worked better. The third row works flawlessly, a pull on the strap and the seats pop up along with the headrest. Another pull and they go back into the floor.

Does the 2nd row fold totally flat on the 110 when you have a 5 or 6 seater? In the pictures I saw they still seemed to stick up a little. I was really hoping it would be like in the LR3/4/Disco5 where it's totally flat. If LR can do it on the other cars and Jeep can do it perfectly on their outgoing Grand Cherokee, I don't see why the Defender should be any different.

Yes - it is completely flat. The bottom seat cushions flip up (which I believe is the difference between the two and three row versions that allows it to be flat) and then with the headrests removed they lie totally flat.

Can confirm this. I would have purchased the 7 seater if I could have found one in my desired spec, but the perfect 110 was down the street from me in 5 seat configuration and I went for it.

The cushions flip forward, headrests fold in, and the seatbacks fold down perfectly flat. The seatbacks also have the same "diamond plate" plastic finish as the cargo area giving you a continuous cargo floor...it's a very very nice setup for when you are hauling something large, especially with the clearsight mirror!

We are fortunate not to need the flat cargo area most of the time, but putting my 190 pound butt on the seats to latch them is something to behold!!

Here is a great article from Cars.com comparing pics of the cargo area/second row seats between both the 5-seat and 7-seat Defenders. It is a very apparent difference with the 5-seat version providing a perfectly flat floor, while the 7-seater does not. Not sure why LR dropped the ball on this. I have a 2017 Disco with 7-seats and the cargo area goes completely flat. (Go about half way down article to find discussion about cargo area and the 3 pictures (swipe to see all the pics)
