Default Smart climate toggle

Does anyone know what exactly this “Smart climate” toggle does?

I believe the Smart Climate option is supposed to adapt the climate in each zone depending on whether a seat is occupied or not. So, it's just the driver in the car, then it's only the driver climate zone that maintains the selected temperature. Might also manage seat heating/cooling but not sure. to be fully effective, I think you need 4 zone climate control.

Mine is a P400 petrol. I do have the 4 zone climate control option. I hate having something in the settings that I don't understand!

I found more info on the Jaguar side of the JLR house. I think this is the concept: www.carmagazine.co.uk/car-news/tech/fresh-thinking-air-blanket-and-air-bubble-car-january-2016/

From the following link: www.jaguarlandrover.com/innovation

Can't find this in my climate settings? I have a p400 with 3-zone climate (front, rear and cargo space) with the extra cooling box and dial in the cargo area and heated (not cooled) seats. The three zone adds the ionizer and all the filtration options...

Is there really a 4 zone climate system? Can't see that even as an option on Rover's website? Perhaps the 4th zone is cooled seats?

I have a P400 with the 3-zone climate control and heated / cooled seats, no such option in the Climate App for me either. Perhaps it's on 7-seaters only (I have a 5-seater) or it's market specific? Or included in a Pivi Pro update I don't have yet? I'm at 2.1.3 currently.

Mine is a 7-seater. The toggle actually disappeared today after software update!

Sorry I meant 3 zone. But I guess with the 3rd row having separate controls it can be considered 4 zone!

As noted, this controls the amount of and noise level of the AC, and I assume, the heat flowing out the vents.
The other choice is weaker and slower, resulting in less noise and briskness.
I immediately switched to the less powerful mode in my MY22 110SE P400 and am happy.
If I need a faster cool down I press the MAX portion of the AC control.

Cheers...
