Default State-of-the-market for pre-owned Defenders

This looks like bad news for us Defender owners. It appears the famous LR depreciation is finally catching up with the Defenders. I know, I know...Gone is the time of flipping 20k miles Defenders for MSRP or more.
I was however particularly surprised to see this not even reaching $60ks. Thoughts?

I don't think that listing is completely indicative of the market.

I agree, by the looks of the service records in the photos it appears this particular 110 had some issues to it.

I am not sure I saw anything on the service records that points to issues different than the ones plaguing most of our cars and discussed at length in this forum. I.e. Shot halo, temperamental cameras, A-pillar flapping, etc. Maybe the fog lamp issue and check engine light could be outliers, but it is a car under warranty for the next 2 years roughly.

Why do you think this is not indicative of the market? It is literally how much somebody would be willing to pay for that car in today's market

1 undesirable-colored truck in South Carolina that isn't special enough for anyone to buy sight-unseen and then bother paying to ship. Doug is great and all but if you put something like that on c&b, it's not hard to believe that it's not catching much of a bid.

IDK. Although I do not agree that Pangea is an undesirable color (taste is really subjective), for my own benefit I hope you are right. I gotta say though this is not what I have seen with prices for our cars and IMO the bid platforms - generally speaking - represent a reasonable picture for what the market is paying for a specific model. At least, much more than what people or dealers advertise their cars for.

This was one car sold on one platform on one particular day. This does not a market make 🤷🏻‍♂️

When I was buying my Defender in 2020 it never once occurred to me what it would be worth if and when I decided to sell it. Covid and supply chain constraints impacted the market. A modern Defender will never be investment grade… ride it hard and enjoy it!

no window sticker and 13k in warranty work per the receipts won’t have helped much.
