State-of-the-market for pre-owned Defenders

I feel that if you paid $56,500 back in July 2023 (feeling you could have gone lower), you would be hard pressed to get more than $50 in a trade today. Prices are really plummeting on the Defenders, especially the ones falling out of warranty due to miles or years in 2024. I say this against my own interest, since mine is one of those running out of warranty next year. Just out of curiosity, I filled in an appraisal sheet in Vroom these days, and they are offering $50k on my 110 P400 SE with 36kmiles. I feel my car is worth way more than that, but this is the reality for LRs in general.
For example, I recently sold a 2016 Q5 for $13,200 to a private party. Along with a second offer near that price. The places that purchase cars outright offered ~$6,500.

I’m not sure why you’re mentioning trade in values in relation to my post. I typically spend the time selling my vehicles on my own. So yeah, of course a person would take an even bigger hit for the convenience of either doing a trade or selling outright through Carvana and the like.
