Default Sunglass holder removed?

Has the sunglass holder really been removed in newer models? Is it for all trim levels?

For those of you who don't have the sunglass holder where are you guys storing your sunglasses?

My '23 90S didn't come with a sunglass holder. I put them in the cubby under the armrest (unless you have a refrigerator option) FWIW, I emailed Simon at PowerfulUK and he said he is working on a replacement holder.

There are numerous places, depending on personal preferences. I place mine in the little cubby just to the left of the Pivi touch screen, or on the little cubby shelf just to the left of the steering wheel. Additionally, I have the item below, which besides having a place for sunglasses, also solves the problem of the deep well in the console, and provides a concealed space under it.

My 110 X MY23 doesn't have it, just some weird dark shiny thing in its place. I keep the sunglass left of the steering wheel, fits perfectly.

Oh that cubby is nice. Never liked putting in the main storage because it's deep and not as accessible when actually driving.

Thought about putting it to the sides of the steering wheel but worried it'd flop all over the place when driving as well

Exactly. That large storage in the front of the console is roomy, but once you put something in there, it’s waaay in there, and hard to access while driving. And that tray lifts out easily to access anything you did put in there.

I heard same thing happening with the 2023 D5s, apparently another victim of supply chain issues....

This is such a weird de-contenting by JLR on the Defender. Literally no "chips" involved and it's really a little plastic mechanism. I love mine (I wear aviators and they go in there perfectly) - I'd try to buy the part from them and install it ! Not sure if you need the whole overhead console or just the insert.

I'm confused - I have a build I did right at the beginning of June (a 23MY AFAIK), which was a 110 X-Dynamic SE then loaded up with air, towing, off-road, all sorts of packs ... but under the base specs for the trim line, it still says "Overhead storage for Sunglasses". For ***** and grins, I did another one today 6/10, and it still shows that.

Are we saying that people are receiving them without the sunglasses holder, despite it being on the build/price tool?

Of course - my build hasn't been accepted yet, dealer has it in their queue, but... what an odd thing to run out of?
