Default SE versus X/X-Dynamic gloss panels

I have a 2021 P400SE in Carpathian Grey with the matte grey plastic wheel arches and lower panels. With the custom paint finish, the dark grey paint makes the plastic trim look really light grey and its bothering me. I want the gloss black panels. I know you cant wrap them, and I'm currently taking to my dealer about having them painted but I fear they cant be painted due to the mottled finish on the plastic.

Does anyone know of an OEM supplier OR the LR parts numbers for the gloss panels and wheel arches? I want this done but my dealer is struggling with a solution. I bought new side steps but cant have them installed until i have the panels removed and replaced to avoid having to do this twice.

Many thanks in advance.

I'm totally with you. JLR needs to make body colored wheel arches.

I have an X-Dynamic HSE on order so the trim will be gloss and I also ordered mudflaps without thinking about the plastics.

I recently saw one with the same configuration and the mudflaps stuck out like they ordered them on eBay. They look terrible next to gloss.

Painting plastic can be a challenge and, sure enough, my dealer said, "yeah, we can try but we don't guarantee it at all".

I've seen some other creative ideas for the trim like Rhino Liner and HyperDip but it all looks a little too aftermarket to me.

I have the X-Dynamic XSE with the Classic Mudflaps. So far no problems, but I haven't been hard core off road yet. Planning to next month on a trip to Big Bend NP and some of the trails around there. As well as a 4x4 "adventure park". I would recommend (as already stated) to just add some wrap if you have a concern there. My dealer F'd up my original order with the switch to MY22 and I lost the extended wheel well protection. However, I like it better that way. The tires don't come close to needing them. After I wear the tires a while I'll replace them with something beefier / lift it. Until then, I think the arched wheel wells are unnecessary.

One option is to get these from PowerfulUK. I may go this route. It likely will help your concerns. It's called their "Checker Plate Wheel Arch Protection". I don't recall seeing it as an option when I built mine. Note, you will have to remove them if later you go with the extended wheel protection. https://www.powerfuluk.com/vehicles/...t-genuine.html

If he's listening, I've got a long list for Santa. Er, I mean Simon: rear ladder options (ala Lucky8 / Voyager); under cover (ala Metzger but not at the cost of a Stasis Device); black front grille bar; I could go on and on.

You might consider the smaller LR OEM mudflaps, rather than the full coverage OEM "Classic" mudflaps. ($172 vs $214 [for 4] on the LR Build configurator). The smaller ones look large enough to be somewhat effective at shielding debris, and look less obtrusive than the full size Classics..

Have a 2021 X-Dynamic HSE and love it (black on black with rough cut walnut and dark gray crossbeam). The silicon gray and gloss black look sleek in my book (sadly, there are 2 SEs on my block and even they have said they like the darker silver). The recovery hooks also look great with the tow hitch receive. Absolutely love the truck so far! Can't go wrong either way!!

I have the

standard mudflaps - they do the job perfectly and are less 'agricultural' than the classic flaps.
