Default Three zone climate control

I am setting up a build with the dealer and when I opted for the "Three zone climate control with rear cooling assist" option, he said I did not need it because I was not adding the third row. But the description in the configurator does not say anything about the third row.

Description: "Three-zone Climate Control has separate temperature controls for driver and the front passenger and rear seats. Either rear passenger can control the temperature, however, the temperature change will made across the entire second row."

The option is somehow related to the family pack which adds the third row, so I assume that's where the confusions comes in. Perhaps the true addition is the "Rear Cooling Assist" to provide additional airflow to a third row, and the driver, passenger and second row controls come standard?

Any feedback on this would be appreciated.

I did not select that option, nor do I have the third row. So there are rear vents in the center console for the 2nd row, but no independent controls. Without the third row, I felt like the additional vents and ability to independently control the temps back there was just overkill. Nice, sure, but my kids will be fine, lol.

Edit: Oh and this was MY21. Maybe MY22 bundles it, I have no idea.

As you mentioned, In order to get the third row you have to order the family pack, which includes the three zone climate control.

The my22 XS model has the three zone climate control standard, but does not allow you to have the third row. I dont see any other option for a rear climate control.

I don't know if things have changed in the new models. I have a MY 2020 and it is a 5 seater. I chose the rear cooling for the dogs and has come in handy. Most recently we had them in their kennels and luggage all around them and on top of the kennel. I left the side where the vent was to blow into the kennel. I then cranked up the fan and it kept them nice and cool. I I didn't have dogs, I would skip as there is no need to cool off the luggage. The system also cuts into the available space in back a little. Same can be said of the inverter if you get the AC plug.

I ordered my 2022 in similar config: 5 seater with rear cooling assist for just that same reason - keeping the hound cool in the back (very important here in Arizona)

Default Third Row A/C

Could those that have third row A/C. Are there vents on both sides on the third row?
