We got our Defender equipped with the full tow package, which includes ability to steer when backing up using the driver's temperature control ****. Included with the Defender was a peel-and-stick target that looks like this:
Does anyone know if we need to stick this to the front of our trailer? There is no mention of it in the owner's manual but the dealer thought we needed it. I only found out it was a target by seeing a video for a Discovery (I think).
I haven't installed it yet (don't actually know where I put it) because I didn't know what it was. The backing up feature works some of the time, but sometimes I get a "trailer not recognized" message. Is the lack of sticker my problem?
It's not used on the new Defender so you can safely dispose of it, I guess the dealership have a big pile of them and are just used to putting them in cars at PDI.

My AD told me, that sometimes Defender requested to calibrate trailer control system. This calibration is performed using this sticker. So this is a non-standard situation, but which can happen
