Trailer hitch for US

FYI, I ordered my hitch at the end of July when I picked up my 2022 110. Got the call this morning, parts are in. Install taking place Tuesday. Those that have ordered the parts might wanna check their dealer, a little less than 2 months for me. In Phoenix, AZ.

Wow, that's great should hopefully get mine soon in as well, I'll have to check with the dealer. Thanks for the update!! Let us know how long the install takes once complete, I believe the parts spec sheet says 2 hrs labor time.

Dealer estimated $3,600 total
for the OEM install. Is that about what it is for you too?

Close, about 3k.

He was telling me it was quite involved with a new bumper (or portion of it), new wiring harness, etc.. said it’s a lot of work but comes out very good.

Please takes pics when it’s done. Thanks!

Picked up the defender today from the dealer. Total install with all parts, labor, and tax was $3179. Since it was done using the proper wiring and everything, it also enabled the towing functionality in PIVI.

oh man -- looks great. Might have to give that to myself for Christmas. Thanks for the post and pics.

That looks very clean!!!

$3k is quite a bit though when compared to the build option for the Tow Hitch Receiver which is only $675+ Tax.

Or did they unlock the whole Towing Pack that is $1,850 in the build options for you in Pivi Pro with All Terrain Progress Control (ATPC), Terrain Response 2 etc as well?

During the manufacture, it's probably a piece of cake. Done at the Dealer, it is a "big deal". Looking at the workshop manual re: the install of the towing receiver itself looks to be a bear. It definitely wasn't just bolting on the receiver like I did to a Tahoe years ago. A lot of deconstruction happens first, lots of replaced wiring looms, and then practically the rear cross member gets replaced. Not sure about the ATPC or TR2, but the labor hours x dealer rate is likely a lot of that.

I ordered mine at build but they don’t include electric brake controller. Installed a Redarc, several posts in this forum and easy plug & play.
