Default Wheel Arch Protection on X/X-Dynamic

I am wondering if anyone has photos of a Tasman Blue X or X-Dynamic Defender with the gloss black bottom trim that also has the wheel arch protection arches installed? I am thinking of adding to mine but want to see a photo first if anyone has it.

I had previously thought this may not look good with the gloss black and plastic wheel arches clashing but I recently saw a Carpathian grey 110 that had this and it looked great.

Example here:

Surprised this has not gotten more responses. I think JLR made a terrible mistake to not allow the owner chose whether they want gloss or matte black for the lower trim. Especially when they only offer the wheel arches in matte black.

There are maybe 3 active threads about this right now. It's a different color, texture, and sheen that doesn't exist anywhere else on the vehicle.

"Good design" doesn't require so much effort to justify its existence. A minor trim part should blend in and compliment the rest of the truck. It doesn't.

I bet the designers had less choice in the materials used in its production than the accountants.

Maybe, but I recall all the trim was previously matte from X trim down. And I can't imagine the cost delta of gloss and matte to be vastly different. But regardless, my wheel arch dreams are crushed

Default Free upgraded wide Wheel Protection Arches

Hi Defender owners!!! So I have an odd post!!! I have a 2022 Defender 110XSE. It came with all the bells and whistles! Including upgraded off road package! Now that may sound exciting to some of you but…I don’t personally need to go off road! I just love the car! So I don’t care for the wider protective wheel arches as it gives the truck an even more rugged appearance. So Ive been trying to find the basic standard wheel arches!! Near impossible to find!! So I had the bright idea to post in forums to see if anyone with standard wheel arches wanted the wider off road ones! Then maybe we can take our cars to the same service dept and swap wheel arches!!! We would both save on buying parts and only have to cover labor!!!! Your car would be getting the upgraded arches for free!!! So who’s interested?? Im in Los Angeles, CA btw!!

I couldn’t agree more. You could have a local body shop paint the arches in gloss black or body color prior to installing. It appears that’s what many others have done.
