Needed a break from this stuff. So, called my youngest son and asked if he was up for a little camping.

Loaded. New shelf holds new collapsible chairs nicely and straped inflatable mattress underneath.

Camped along the Maple river! About a 300 mile round trip from home. Victoria (110) ticked it off like a champ. Even ran the expressway for a portion to see what she could do. Cruised 70 mph with pedal left...but l'd never run her that hard for any length of time. It's nice to know that she does have the potential to pass, if need be.

Absolutely poured Sunday night. A lot of drying out Monday, setting everything back up. Was fortunate though, 70°F, nice gentle breeze and sunny. Ended up removing tent for the winter. Any trips from here on out, will be solo until spring.

Was pleased with Jackey. It ran the fridge two and a half days, and had 20% when l got home. Have 200 watts worth of solar panels, for extended stays with no power. Plus, my secondary battery will run fridge about 17 hours. So, between all three...my remote camping gets quite the boost, time-wise.

Originally, ran a line to a 3/8's port on fuel tank, right side. But it would not hold a prime. Faught with it for a few days and finally gave up and made a tank holder out of some diamond plate...and mounted to window guard.

Ended up removing 5K watt heater and replaced with 2K watt, smaller and does an excellent job.

This unit comes with a remote, so l can start heater before venturing out. Tested, from -1°F it took cabin temp to 68°F in 20 minutes.

Added some seat cushions. Now, l can sleep inside without inflating bedroll.

Added a headliner that l got from 'Mud Ruts' (Chris). It was white and a little stained, so painted it body color. Turned out pretty nice, in my opinion.

This really put the 'final touches' on things inside. And, between the Defeater Floor Mat system installed earlier...really quieted up the ride.

Ended up not reinstalling rear view mirror, since it only got in the way...being right hand drive...at intersections.

So, decided to do something with rear door. Cut a piece of plywood and stained it, to cover rear glass.

Added insulation between plywood and glass. Told my wife about this, she said..."that will look like crap from outside".

And, of course...she was right...

Wanted a silverware holder, but overland ones were stupid money...so, picked up a Husky tool belt from Home Depot for $17.98.

I've removed upper rack, served no purpose (to close to Husky tool belt).

Only down-turn to this installation was...showing my wife. She immediately said..."is that my can opener from the kitchen, the one l've been looking for for months?"

My center compartment between front seats has always been to low. It's actually a locking gun vault that l added a Dll console lid too.

Been searching and searching for a metal box to go below it that could be mounted, then gun vault mounted to it. I'd ordered a FrontRunner box that kept being on back order for months and they had no idea if they'd ever see it..so cancelled. But, kept coming up empty...everything was either square or some funky shape. In casual conversation l mentioned it to my wife and told her dimensions...two minutes on Amazon..."is this what you're looking for?"

I'm like...WTH!...lol

Ordered two, since l had another project in mind.

This box beneath gun vault made it perfect height now. Elbow rests comfortably on lid, leaving hand right at perfect level for shifter.

You unlock gun vault, with code or key by flipping up Dll console pad, which then gives you access to locking lid of lower box and gun vault flips up with lid. Giving you access to low box, which will hold paper maps and such.

I've always wanted an outside storage box for my grease gun (yuck) and oil...so, box number two comes into play.

Installed some aluminum angle pieces to box, painted and pop-riveted the box to window guard. Added four hinges on bottom, original hinge was crappy.

Lined box with foam and used an old shovel holder to hold grease gun. I'm a freaking freak about greasing u-joints. Did it every 1K on my trip to Alaska. I'd much rather grease a u-jount...than change a u-joint.

Added a storm front/muff. Really makes a difference with the 200tdi diesel. Actually comes up to temp, even at 0 degrees (if maintaining decent speed).
