Default Virginia is for Rovers. DII budget build.

Hello, new member here. Thanks to all the warm welcomes on the new member section of the forum! I won't bore you with another intro.

I have just purchased an 03 Discovery for a little under $500. It's pretty clean and runs and drives great! Leaks oil like a son of a gun but we'll fix that. Long story short, me and a couple buddies do a sort of "grassroots" challenge every year and this one is a 4wd challenge.
The rules are pretty simple $1500 to spend, has to pass state inspection, and has to be a 4wd.
Happy to be here, I'll post when the progress starts. Love any ideas!
Tucker

Default Tires ordered!

So, ordered some tires for the build. They are some cheappp all terrains. I have rode a few vehicles at work with these tires on them and they're not too bad. They aren't great, but we will see how they hold up.
The tires are Ironman All Country A/T, I went with a 245/75/16. Seemed like a pretty good deal right at $80.00 a piece!
With that, if there is anyone near me that would like the Michelin's that are on it when I take them off just let me know. I will keep y'all posted. Happy St. Patty's day!
Cheers

No, they are passenger tires. 110H XL, I think that would rate them at like 200 lbs (2500lbs) more a piece than the stock Michelins.
I could be wrong though.

See for yourself...... http://www.herculestire.com/tire-gal...try-at/#loaded

Should've snagged the LT245's - they're 10 ply, E10 rated and probably hard as a brick. The XL's are only 4 ply and believe or not when I did a specific vehicle lookup at Hercules Tires for the Disco all three selections picked where XL...... so on with the game.

By the way Josh, I'd trade you any day of the week, pm me. Nice snag!

Thanks bud! I have really enjoyed this thing so far. I thought long and hard about the LTs but I believe they were double the price.. (I looked at so many) haha.
Thanks for the link
