New here and first post. Reasonably handy with a wrench but new to LR with my 300tdi RHD 110 bought a few months ago. Clutch hydraulics had a leak getting progressively worse so decided to replace slave, master cylinder, and flex line.
Question pertains to master cylinder and getting the clutch pedal box off the firewall. I have removed the six bolts from the inside footwell. I’ve removed the pedal spring clip. The box seems to be in a bed of sealant against the firewall. It’s not budging at all - gave it a few whacks with a hammer for good measure. Am I missing a mechanical connection somewhere? If just the sealant, any suggestions for how to break free? It’s a ‘96 SA delivery County. Pictures below.
