I own a 3.5L V8 Defender (1991) out here in Kenya - which engine oils would you recommend I use? I have always used Shell Helix Ultra 15W50 but they've changed it to 5W40 now - is this still OK and a good oil to use for this engine? Thanks for your help!

 

I'm no expert on V8's but that engine is essentially the same as the one used in the early Discovery 1 and in the Range Rover classic - you should be able to find plenty of information in both the discovery and range rover sections of the forum. Good luck
