Default Can't import 110 into US? How about this?

I think the topic of trying to import Defender 110s into the US has been well discussed in previous threads. But what do you guys think of this? The link below shows a place in North Carolina that has converted a 1993 Range Rover LWB into a 1993 Spec Defender 110. Let me know your thoughts. I apologize if this has been discussed before.

Well, it's interesting but really if you want a Defender get a 1983 and order a new rolling chassis, take it apart put in all new hardware, give it paint and bodywork, replace the corroded bits and swap in a 300TDI and you're there. Yes it's a fair bit of work, but if you really want one it's the way to do it... when I finish rebuilding my 1992 I'll start doing this for others, the caveat is if you're re-importing it into the US it needs to be licensed there prior to the work.
