Default Deep Cleaning Your Undercarriage

Ok after going threw numerous mud holes and having TONS of mud on the bottom of my car. I would like to deep clean my undercarriage.

I've read in a few places to do the following.
1. Power Wash (Rinse)
2. Oven Cleaner (Deep Clean)
3. Power Wash (Rinse)
4. Purple Power Degreaser (Follow-up Clean)
5. Power Wash (Rinse)

They've said the results are amazing!

That any Calcium, Salt, Lime, or Rust are 100% removed!

Does this sound like a good plan?
Anyone else have any knowledge on cleaning your undercarriage?

I don't see anything wrong with doing any of that. Just be careful around any electrical connections. And a great idea after you've finished all that is to get some rubberized undercoating (3M makes one that's like 6 bucks a can) and do the whole underside and all the wheel wells and crap. I'll be doing all this once spring comes.

The only downside is that the Oven Cleaner will strip paint and will damage aluminum.

Is the undercarriage/engine compartment have a lot of paint/aluminum?

Well, keep it away from the engine, that's for sure. If you're not too sure about it basically just don't use it. Maybe it won't be as clean as humanly possible but at least you'll still have everything in tact. The power washing and degreaser should take off almost all if not all of the grease and dirt that's under there.

Well this is how I clean mine. Before I used sprinklers but waste of water. So I go underneath my truck then power wash it. Same process. works well.

So you use oven cleaner?

How well does it work?

You also use purple power?

People tell me it will destroy bear aluminum.
Is there any bear aluminum on the 04 Disco?

Thanks!

I'm pretty sure Engine Degreaser is a hybrid of SimpleGreen/PurplePower Degreaser and Oven Cleaner (Lye).
