Default 1993 Landrover discovery

Having troubles sourcing a new alternator. Are any other year models suitable

Ok, you have a '93 DI. What engine does it have, a petrol or diesel? The petrol uses RTC5680 while the 200TDi uses RTC5681. I don't have much experience with the diesel version but if you have a petrol engine you could use a RRC alternator. I'm not sure if you're in the US but it appears as though it's a 65 amp alternator so if you're here in the US you could use the 1987-88 RRC part as a crossover.

These days I never know whether someone has imported a 25 year old DI into the states (based on the preponderance of US member on LRF) or if they are somewhere else in the world. I wish people posted where they're located when posting up questions.

I agree with you, most people post with the expectation that others are mind readers.
And then they get frustrated when no one gives an answer.
But for looking at the member profile (which I normally never waste time to do) I wouldn't have seen the AU Country code.
