I really love the unvented look of the aftermarket tubeless version of the series II & III wheels, but I have some Blizzak DM-V2 225/75R16 tires and I am not sure if the 5.5" width of those rims is too narrow?
Also, anyone used those wheels on a disco 1 without wheel spacers? I know they push the wheel inbound almost 2" because of the offset, but I am not sure if that is enough to be goofy or not.
I have a stock 98' Disco I. My alternative choice is the vented wolf clones which I suspect fit closer to what the original steel 5 spoke disco specific wheels were.
The specs from Tire Rack for the DMV2 are below. The recommended rim width range is 6-7.5". I run that same tire on Indy in the winter. They're great! I have a set of wheels for my winters and for the all-season tires. Super easy 10 minute swap out with the solid axles and an air wrench. SPECIFICATIONS

Thanks, I ended up getting the wider vented wheels (bearmach) with those blizzak DM-V2s. Do you run your pressures 28 front/36 rear with these? I am hoping they are as good as they sound like they will be. Wish they could have been balanced without the clip-on balancers but I will just have to touch the silver color up and where they gouged a rim with some white paint to match better.
For summer wheels and tires if I still love the new-to-me disco in the spring I think I will get some of those unvented limestone wheels with the chunky michelin XZL 7r/16 tires (which I am wondering if can be used without spacers or require a ~2" lift). Where is the best place to source those tires?

I run my all-season tires (Firestone Destination LE2) and the Blizzak DMV-2 at 36psi front and rear. The even pressure all the way around seems to work better on the curvy mountain roads around here. The LE2's have been great, but they're 7 years old now with 50k on them and the sidewall near the bead is beginning to show cracking. I'll probably replace them next season even though they probably have 10k-15k of tread life remaining. I've never had Indy aligned and the tires have worn evenly.
I have no experience with the other tires you mentioned. I'm not an off-roader, so I just run highway tires.
