Default 8274 Winch mount?

Anyone here ever put a Warn 8274 winch on their D1? My father-in-law has one that wound up in my garage. We were going to modify it plates just a little to get it on my Wrangler, but I sold the Wrangler to get the Disco. So now I have a homeless winch, and I'm wondering what it would take to slap it on the front of the Rover.
Any suggestions?

Unless you cut the grill and recess it, it will really cut down on your approach angle.

I'm honestly not all that worried about losing a little approach angle. I live in Kansas, and I really can't say I have the time to drive 3 hours to get to any non-flat off-roading locations where I would kick myself for having a winch hanging out the front. But since we've got it sitting around, we figure it would be nice to have it mounted to something for the winter months.

Then go for it. I had one on my 95 Disco for a while but removed it because of the approach angle issue.
I'd definitely get a good ****** block if you're using a 8000lb winch on a Disco.

Do you have a winch bumper for the truck?

No, Spike I don't. But that was sort of what my question was pointed at. I found a few options for the Jeep pretty easily, but I have yet to find any options for the Disco, so I was wondering what routes others may have taken to actually mount the winch.
As you probably know, this particular winch is a front mount winch, so the more general winch bumpers won't really work. None that I'm aware of, anyway. It's already on a mount plate, which we were just going to extend a little and bolt down on the top of the Jeep's bumper, right into the frame. Would have been pretty simple, but I'm not seeing that sort of easy option for the Disco.

Well if you can wait a little bit you can be the first to purchase one of "Uncle Spikes Winch Bumpers", the first gen will be for DI's.
DII's to follow.
Then heavy duty rear bumpers and rock sliders and under armor too.

..Then Uncle Spikes roof racks for DIIs without sunroofs that resemble the hard to find SD racks? (added bonus that when installed, will still clear my garage door opening?)

Haha...sorry but unless you have a 8ft or taller garage door no LR with a roof rack will fit into your garage, especially if you have a lift.
I dont even have a lift or bigger tires and I have sagging springs and I cant even fit into a parking ramp any more...at least not the one at the mall.
Downtown maybe.

I'm not aware of any bumpers stateside that will handle the 8274, it's not a particularly popular winch for Discos here. Used a lot in the UK though.
It's a perfect winch for the SII/IIA/III though.
I think the reason being that a bumper for the 8274 won't work very well for much of anything else, so very limited market.
I built my own.
