The owners handbook lists ATF, however Land Rover released a Technical Service Bulletin stating to switch to MTF (Manual Transmission Fluid).
I run Redline MTL in both of mine.
Red Line Synthetic Oil - Gear Oil for Manual Transmissions - MTL 70W80 GL-4 Gear Oil

What do you mean "grabbing at the top"?
Capacity if listed in the owners handbook.

Well, I can say from personal experience that the baulk rings (syncros) are happier with MTL.

Sounds like you are talking clutch, not transmission.

X2 on the Redline MTL. It's good stuff and worth the extra cost. If you haven't been using it, the tranny will behave better after swapping to it.
