Default ac switch

neither my ac switch nor my recirculation switch (or what ever its called the one to the left of the ac switch) is lighting up. Ive checked all the fuses and I cant find any blown. If its low on freon it should still light up right?

Right, just won't chill. The recirc should work regardless, it just closes a flap. A/C switch and recirc are on relays. Check the relays/sockets. They're in a great spot to get wet and corrode when the floor rots out, behind the passenger kick panel. Do you have a copy of the "Rave"? If not you need to grab it.

Your welcome. I would point out which one but never crawled down there to find out, mine works..... Also these switches, well they suck afaik. A shot of WD40 usually wakes them up......give that a try while searching for which relay connects the spark.

If your confused then I know you looked at the Rave. Air Recirculation Solenoid In–Line Fuse (P138). Looking for a Yellow/Black stripe wire to the solenoid. The fuse is a 10A. If the WD40 doesn't do it and the fuse is good then the solenoid might be stuck or the flap is. It's in such a crappy spot you'd have to lift the dash to get to it. Have you been having water get into the dash through the windshield?

No not at all everything is dry. The switch to the rear ac comes on and lights up but of course with no ac it just blows regular fan air

I'm going to pull the RH cover under the dash and the right hand kick panel off tomorrow and take a look around. I'll look for the striped yellow/black wire. I still can't tell which relay it is. I wish the pictures of the rave were in color or something. Maybe it's just me but I'm not very good at figuring out the rave lol

You should be able to find the yellow/black wire with the under dash cover off but I don't think it's gonna be right there in your eyeballs. Lots of wire bundles in that location. It's not you having a hard time with the Rave. I can follow the circuit diagrams perfectly, it's the pictures, they really are ambiguous, not detailed. The A/C circuits are fairly large, might not just be a relay that's causing the problem.

Yeah your right about those pictures. I start tracing it down and I'm also going to take the switches out and clean them. Thanks again
