Default air conditioner/heater blower motor

i'm having yet another weird issue that i can't seem to figure out. the blower motor wont come on unless its in park or neutral. any other gear it turns off. i checked fuses and nothing is blown. any tips on where to look? should i just rig some type of switch with a speed control to it instead? this problem has got me lost. thanks if anyone has any tips.

Ive heard of the D2 having a bad body controll module doing screwy things like that. Might be a bad relay or a shorted wire somewhere. That just doesnt make sence it works in N an P but not in gear.

Twice in the last week, My AC Blower suddenly stopped working. I reached over and as soon as I touched the switch it came right back to life. I haven't torn into it, its working ok right now.

I guess as they age, little gremlims grow in the dark hidden spaces..........

Same thing happened to mine about a week ago. It was on full blast, then totally died. I turned it off and on again and came back to life no problem. No issues since. Strange

To the OP- no clue. I doesn't make sense to only work in park and neutral...I went through the diagram and a bad groung coming back through the park switch is all I can see...

To the others - if it is on high, turns off, and comes back on when your touch it again, the switch is bad. The rear a/c switch will swap right out, if you have it, or find another one on e-bay or a salvage.

Well i fixed it, come to find out the previous owner must have spilled something or other and turned the inside of the console into a science experiment. I dont know if this is what caused the insulation on the wire to come loose or not but the insulation was coming off making the wire ground to where ever it pleased. I just cut back the damaged wire and soldered a new piece in and grounded it to an out of the way place.

THANKS EVERYONE WHO REPLIED!

P.S. taking the center console out is a PAIN! I dont know how the guy did it but he got it apart.
