Mine has been doing the same thing for months and I haven't been able to figure it out. Mine does appear to be heat related however. Good luck. I will be following this thread closely to see what you find out.

Is your a/c system full of R-134a?
You can check this yourself with a DIY a/c recharge kit.

is the A/c itself quitting or is the fan stopping intermittently ?

My 97 the fan would cut out at random times on heat or AC. It never happened enough to bother troubleshooting but I was thinking either a loose connection or a failing blower motor.

Try to pay attention to whether you hit a bump or anything out of the ordinary when it happens. That should give a clue to what's causing the problem. If it cuts out after you hit a bump I'd think loose connection somewhere in the system.

I would bet its a bad switch on the dash. Mine was doing the same thing and I got mad and broke the switch then I replaced with a new one no problems of it shutting off since

Last few days blower on 4 a/c on

Blower cuts out and a/c light turns off then both come back on, only affects front a/c blower

Bad fan switch?
