LAND ROVER PARTS - FUEL PUMP/SENDING UNIT RANGE ROVER & DISCOVERY
british pacific used to have one for less than $70 from allmakes (probably the same brand as rovers north, unless they changed it), but I cannot find it on their site.
ESR3926 is the part number for Pre AELS... 94-mid97.
I'd call one of the rover parts people, like ptschram and see what price they have.
(in other words, if the airtec isn't drop in, I'd get one that is.)

Yeah. I'm saying I wouldn't do that. Just a pain in the butt to save $25 or $50. The pump is inside a plastic bucket that is brittle from age and being in gas, and I couldn't get the freakin' clear hoses inside to disconnect for the life of me.

Doing that repair has a 50% failure rate.
There was a guy in the DII section who did that and after 2 weeks of the truck not running bought a brand new fuel pump and was back on the road in 30 min after he had spent countless hours trouble shooting and replacing parts that did not need replacing.
Up the limit on the Visa and buy the whole assembly.

Airtex pumps are decent and despite popular opinion, it is possible to change the pump itself without buying the entire assembly. You do take a certain risk when doing it that way, it is very easy to break something but it is also half the price so you have to figure out which way is best for you. They dont always break but there is a good chance you'll ruin the assembly and end up buying a new one anyway.
You also take a certain risk ordering anything by Allmakes that is sold by BP. If you're lucky enough to have the part actually show up, it may still be garbage. You get what you pay for.
