Default Alternator, 94-95 vs 96-99

Atlantic British lists different part numbers for a 94-95 D1 than a 96-99 D1.
Anyone know the differences between the two? Will a later model D1 alternator work in a 95?

I don't know if there are other differences but the pulley size is one issue.

AMR4247>> 52MM

AMR3107>> 67MM

As long as they're both 100A there is only one difference, the 94/5 pulley is larger than the later models. It will not display the correct engine rpms. If your swapping down to your 95 is will show more rpms as the GEMS pulley is smaller. Swap pulleys and all is good. As far as the charging guts layout they probably are different cassette modules but both achieve the same result as far as I can tell.

Ahh, good to know. Thank you.
Where did you find that info on the pulley size? Or is that just something you knew?

Not sure who your asking.....but I found my info in the real world.......my spare was from a 95. I noticed the rpm was off immediately so off it came, I compared pulleys, swapped and lived happily ever after.....

It was more aimed at OverRover since he had the exact part numbers and pulley diameter. Kinda led me to believe maybe he had a resource to pull data from.

I had the pulley OD because I ran into a problem years ago sourcing a drivebelt. At the time a real PITA!

But for giggles I just put those part numbers into RN and same info...

I had the one with the larger diameter pulley on my old 98 and rpms were way off, it worked and was great but I was a but baffled when I got my newest truck and the rpms were running way way up there. You could always simply change the pulley right?
