Default Anyone else have a noisy fuel pump...

I was sitting under my truck doing the rear diff fluid when my wife got home in the Disco. I noticed it had a loud splashing sound from the fuel tank. It sounds to me like the assembly is cracked and spewing fuel out the side, but I could be wrong. They might all sound like that.

So you guys' homework is to start your Disco and stick your head down by the fuel tank from the rear of the vehicle and let me know if yours sounds the same.

I could pull the pump out and inspect it, but I did that not long ago and it was fine...might have to tonight just to see for sure. I'd still like your responses, however.

They have a recirculating type of system so what your hearing is most likely the fuel returning from the rail into the tank.

I know that, but this sounds way louder than just the fuel from the return line. I'll be checking the assembly tonight for cracks. I am kinda thinking it might be cracked, because lately my high idle has been offset with the engine wanting to stumble and die, like fuel starvation...we shall see.
