Anyone know which brand of rock sliders mount to frame vs door sills?

I have a 1998 Discovery 1 with some rust on one side of rear door sills i don't want to deal with repairing right now but want to add rock sliders. I am looking for a set with the tree guards just to make getting into the vehicle easier for me and passangers.

I dont know of any sliders "mass" produced for rovers that frame mount. But I built mine and welded them permanently to frame and added undersill mounts too.As my sills were a little rotted.......

Don't know of any frame mount but some bolt to the face of the sill but others wrap the support under the sill, if that helps

These will probably be as close as you get to "mounting to the frame".
Welcome to the official website for Rock Star Fabrications LLC
And even these are mounted to the sill and only stabilized by outriggers to the frame.
The problem is that the frame is too fa away I think to mount sliders exclusively to. Having sliders mount to the frame creates a great amount of leverage, especially when adding a nerf(tree) bar.
Brad's design at RoxStar is good, and so are the U-channel design that actually sandwiches the sill.
Bottorf actually used the U-channel design but DO NOT order from him. If you want to know why just search.

I've seen too many of the sill mounted (even the sandwiching style/type) bend the sill and prevent a door or two from opening. But, they weren't being used as a "slider" - more like a rock "masher". Thus why the sill gives.

I've seen a couple of homemade frame mounted sliders which were very stout and didn't give (mine not included).

Anytime a product is used in a manner it wasn't intended for there is going to potential for failure. Sliders are named such for a reason. To help you slide over rocks if you get hung on them, while protecting your sills. To my knowledge, they're not for withstanding 3ft drops onto rocks.
As for not being able to open doors, I can't imagine the doors/sills would be in any better shape without the slider.
I would love to actually see one of these frame only mounted sliders b/c I cant see how they wouldn't flex up into the sill and still cause damage.
