Is there any benefit from not running the cats? I live in Oregon as well, columbia county = no DEQ, so if there is a huge benefit then it might be something I would consider. removing the cats that is

and, and, and...
and you save $hundred$ by not replacing them, and all the 10 - 15 year old cats in the world are hardly doin' squat anyway, and you get to thumb your nose at the man, and ethanol gas has altered the way your engine burns fuel with air, and you will have an increase in HP... too bad it is so small you won't notice it.... and whatever other excuses you can come up with to justify crossing to the dark side.

Oh nice. I miss the Oregon coast and the rest of the state for that matter, but no enough to move back haha. No emissions stuff here either so I'll probably ditch the cats when the time comes (don't tell mike). Pretty sure I only have two O2 sensors before the cats so a little more simple to delete.

I thought you thought all cities should have emissions testing, or so I thought I read. And I thought you leaned a little to the left politically.

Why do people need to remove them? Why not leave them in, just gut them and install the proper O2s to fool the CEL? Then, if the vehicle ever needs a visual inspection, it will pass.

I was thinking the EXACT same thing, I guess it makes people feel good they are "crossing the dark side" haha
