crankcase vacuum, ventelation problem

One of my vac. hoses that was connect from crankcase to throttle body collapsed (it was very tight tun, new hose). This resulted in engine having too much pressure built up, and poped my manifold gasket.

I am thinking about potability of routing crank ventilation houses to a cachcan and then venting to atmosphere, and closing off vacuum nipples on intake manifold.

Have anyone done that?

i have done that...but i just went to the exhaust...i will tell you after two months running this way it has kept up intake and TB and Idle control valve spot clean (no hot gases w/ oily residue passing thru) and the truck throttle response is much better...however that i did not notice until about 2 months as well....i prefer you went to the exhaust because if you dont you will smell the ventilation and its not a pleasent oily smell...i have mine routed after the cats

land rover's pcv is the poorest design i have seen in years

However, do this at your own risk especially if you have emission checks

They did that on one of the Horsepower TV (?) episodes over the weekend to relieve pressure from damaging the intake gaskets(?) on a large v8.

Do a search on it maybe? They did a real good job, but they were having to drill into the valve covers as well as the exhaust.

As long as you keep the oil separator clean you wont have any PCV trouble.
Take it out and clean it twice a year.

Yeah I have a 1/2" line drilled into my exhaust at the Y....just FYI it has stopped my oil leak I had since I've done this mod....but it just idles and throttle response is AMAZING....it just keeps everything super clean
