Default D1 with black interior?

I came across this picture of a 95 with black seats and carpet. I was under the impression all DI's were beige?

What's the deal?

yeah, and if it were a black interior I'd think the dash and other items would match...heck, I've got a black center console but there's a good explanation!

It could be that the black seats are from a '95 RRC. The stitching on the seats on '95's went front to back like what's seen in the picture. The airbag could also be from a '95 RRC as it was black. There were even a few center consoles done in black for the RRC and they would easily fit a DI. The fact that the instrument bezel appears to be tan, the under dash panel is tan and most of the main section of the dash is tan, speaks to this truck being cobbled together from more than one Rover.

No Paul, it's a one off, factory ordered custom D1. Quick, someone offer the guy $40k for it!!!!!

But now that you mention that, if I ever see a RRC with black interior, I may try and snag it....for my D1
