I disagree, they're asthetically pleasing and as long as they're mounted correctly offer a decent amount of brush protection (Thus, brush guard)

But yeah, where's this guy live. Maybe that's a plow hook up, or offroad lights.

I recently sandblasted mine and repainted with primer and a solid gloss back. It looks good, I wish I would've evened out the coat better though. But I love mine. Offer $50, if not, walk away. People give these things away.

Mine looked like crap after ten years. And really was too flexible to be of any serious help. So much so that it would break the headlamp washers. Powder coat was chipping and while it did block a shopping cart or two, and even had some yellow on it from taxi cabs trying to squeeze through while I was double parked, it was a clumsy eye-sore. And yeah, that bottom part does look to be a modification of some sort.

Well I will stay away. I thought about getting it before I left but after reading how it is basically worthless and does little real protection I can live without it. The place wanted $150 for it and I laughed, he then said $100, and I scoffed, and he said no lower, then I walked.
