D1 Towing a P38
When I picked up my RRC I was nervous about the engine cooling. Once all was loaded and I was on the highway I was towing about 5,500 lbs.
Trailer was a double axle heavy transport trailer weighing a tad over 1,000 lbs. and the RRC weighs in around 4,500. Mechanical brakes on the trailer.
With my 5 speed I was shifting back and forth between 3rd and 4th and had the heater on. This kept the temps down around 3/4 (of the white, not full temp range) and I got passed by a couple scooters but I made it home safe and no damage. IF your cooling system is questionable don't tow during the heat of the mid-day is my advice.

I towed my D1 cadaver truck home on a Uhaul trailer with my 98 D1. Had to tell Uhaul I was towing something small, I think I said a Plymouth Horizon, LOL. It was only about a 100 mile trip, not sure I'd want to do any more. No problems, though. As mentioned, allow plenty of time to stop.
