Question Disco 1 Side steps / running board options?

Hi everyone,

Just wondering what suggestions you have for running boards/side steps for a lifted D1?

I was looking at the Go Rhino Truck SpringSteps... any other suggestions?

Thanks, and cheers

Depends on what you're gonna do with your rig. If you're gonna be on the street all the time and just need help getting in, then I suppose those will work well. If you're looking for obstacle protection, then there are dozens of choices. What's your need? OEM is always an option if you're not going to beat the truck up much.

Hi Keoni004,

Thank you for your reply. I am looking for a bit of both. I do not do hardcore rock crawling, but I do tend to find the lesser travelled forest service roads, and atv trails that can be a little challenging at times Guests find the new lift and larger tires a little challenging to hop into the Rover.

Would you have three that you would recommend off the top of your head besides OEM?

Looking at all the options, I've settled on these. Had to put them off for some repairs, but I'll be getting these with the secondary tube to use as a step. Price was right, and the install looks straightforward.

Perfect question because I am looking into getting some myself. This is the reason my mom is tiny 4'11" and after her stroke it has been hard for her to get into the truck. My truck doesn't have a lift but I do use it to go off roading.

Any that you suggest for this? Is there any that can be taken off and put on easily when needed?

Thanks for the help.

As mentioned spend the money on some sliders with nerf bars. Get the sliders that wrap the sill, too. Like a "U" shape.

Thanks for the ideas!

I probably will go with nerf bars as Keoni004 and fishEH mentioned... but I just thought I would throw this one out as well as it caught my eye Bestop PowerBoard Electric Running Boards

Honestly, probably good for mall crawlers that'll never be off road. Then again, it's just more electrical things to fail

I'd go with regular stock sidesteps before those. Those are going to gang down pretty low and are just another gadget to fail. I think an actual slider would be a better investment. They will hold up to abuse/serve a purpose, are less expensive, and will resell for more.
