Default Discovery 2.5 Tdi engine swap

Hi everybody

Today funny thing happened. About 10 years ago I got my Land Rover Discovery 1st gen year 1991. After 5 year driving it I decided to get rid of it because there were technical problems all the time, so I left it in the backyard. But as I'm living near the forest time to time I sued to drive it just for fun. Today proximately after 2 years it wasn't driven I tried to start the engine and it started and working perfectly, the car don't have brakes any more and even the doors falling of because of the rust everywhere.

So now I'm wondering, maybe it's possible to use the engine for another car, but not for the Land Rover. Therefore I would like to ask does anyone know which car would be suitable for that engine?

build a kit car. I think a rover V8 would be awesome in an Austin Healy 3000 or what ever other type of kit car floats your boat.

Look for another DI with a blown engine, then swap your powertrain over to it.

Could make it 4wd too...

4wd MG Midget V8

The Rover V8 is a very popular swap for Midgets, MGAs and MGBs.

Personally I think a 2.5 TDi in a Midget or MGA/MGB is an inspired concept. Do it and post pics!

if the chassis is still good you could build a 100" Defender/ Discovery chassis Hybrid.

if it would fit under the hood a 2.5 diesel MG would be interesting. My father-in-law has both a Midget and an MGB.....IIRC the MGB bonnet height might be tall enough to fit the 2.5.
