Yes. But at that time it was still my daily driver. My '96 has some rodent chew it appears. I'll either try to bandage it up or tear the whole thing down, whatever is easiest.

They make excellent condo material for mice to live in your air cleaner housing. Best filter I've ever had.....aside from the screaming. Thought it was the wind at ultra high speed downhill velocity (43 1/2).

Got rid of mine a couple of years ago. Faded paint covered with now faded flat black..... mine held at least of quart of oil which makes em valuable at trail parties. When you don't want everyone thinking your too pale from sitting at a desk all day you just put some bonnet blanket oil on and you have an instant tan. So what if you now have body hair....toothless chicks go crazy over it.

If my hood blanket was supposed to suppress fire it would have instead looked like a tiki-torch, could have landed a 747 at 38k right on top of it...in daylight. Great for survival rescues when your iridium spark plugs finally fail in the mall parking lot.

Yeah. It's almost exclusively a sound insulator. I've seen some cars where a base model wouldn't have it, but the higher trim levels would. Some also block some heat, especially if they have some foil lined areas you can assume heat plays a part in the design.

Default Hood insulation

I installed the Dynamat hood insulation yesterday and it was very easy. It seems to be working very well and it was only $ 57.00 from Summit Racing. This is a much more economical way to go for hood insulation than the factory replacement. Mike

Just did this today. Mine was chewed up on the air-box side, but the rest was intact. This kit is also almost identical in size...I didn't need to trim anything.

Mice tore mine up too. I need to do something. Good suggestions. I imagine the dynamat is not as tasty to them (??)

Nothing has no taste, nothing collects no oil, nothing melts snow and ice, nothing adds patina to already shot clear coat covered by flat black. I went with nothing.
