Default Does this tie into this????

So we're in the middle of putting some long needed hoses and such in the roached out engine bay of the 98 discovery we just bought. This thing runs like a dream but has been a little neglected as far as general maintenance goes. Most of the hoses under the hood need to be replaced soon, particularly the vacuum lines. All are in place except the ones I pictured below. I'm pretty sure they "t" together but wanted to ask just to be sure. One comes through the firewall next to the brake booster, has a plastic fitting on it but its busted to crap and the hoses are dry rotted. The other is hanging off the throttle body and looks to control something in that area. It has whats left of a fitting in the end of it which makes me think the hoses listed all tie together next to the brake booster. Below are some pics of the hoses in question. Am I correct to assume they used to be linked together?

Cruise control. I'd tell you how it hooks up, but mine is all missing.

Pretty sure one line goes up to the pump under the steering fluid reseroir while the other goes over to the cruise control actuator (that black diaphram in the picture).

In case no one told you, it's the cruise control vacuum line.

I think Spike said that in #4. And like I said, one end of the line goes up to the cruise control pump and the other goes over to the cruise control actuator. I'm sure the OP gets it by now.

Not to hijack this...... My cruise control doesn't work.... Should I start with the vacuum hoses? How many are there?

Yes, start with the vacuum hoses. There is the one that is connected to the cruise control switch behind the brake pedal, below the brake light switch. Start there. It goes through the bulkhead into the tee that's been shown in the photo on this thread. One side goes over to the bellows on the cruise control actuator near the accelerator linkage and the other goes forward to the vacuum pump. There are hoses that come off the pump that need to be checked as well.

It you want the real step by step it's located in the RAVE. It's quite thorough. You have to remember that you have a number of switches as well as the ecu, the pump, the actuator and various lines in the system. More often than not it's a matter of bad lines but with these cars getting on in age it could be any one or more parts of the system that are failing.

The cruise control vacumn pump is actually located in an out of the way spot up by the driver's side headlight. You can reach it thru the opening by the headlight with the hood raised. It is basically hidden from view where it is located.

I am pretty sure there are only three hoses involved.
