Drive shaft problems

Default Drive shaft problems

Can anyone tell me why my driveshaft is giving problems...noise particularly!

If the joints are good, hardware secure, then there's no reason I can think of for it to make noise. Unless your buddies put a cable tie on the shaft

Obviously we can't see it, so you need to crawl under and take a look for anything wrong, or take pics for us.

Yeah, take a good look at it.

The joints could be dry and will need to be serviced. If they have been "noisy" for some time, it will be a good time to rebuild them.

If they been making much noise very long, you may as well plan on replacing them.

They should be smooth and quiet. If they bind up and self destruct, you will be wishing you had attended to it much sooner. Anytime your Rover is squeeling, it is saying "Stop driving me or I will cost you big time!"

The louder the noise, usually the higher the cost.
