Default DS1 odd transmission or transfer case issue.

So I'm having some issues with my disco1 the truck has developed an odd issue that I need assistance repairing. Currently when going from park to reverse it does not engage in gear. If I put it in drive it acts as if it's stuck in third gear. If I shift from 1-2-3-d it will move out like there's no issues. Lastly if I throw it into park from drive while moving then into reverse it will catch at times and functions as normal until it catches again. It appears jarring the truck will replace normal operations. Also throughout this craziness it the trannylight keeps coming on for temp. Red gear light. Lease help!

Have you checked to make sure you have plenty of transmission fluid?
When was the last time you replaced the transmission filter?

I checked and changed all about 6 days ago. Fluid was a little dark but not bad at all
