Talking Fellow Rover owners!

Just wanted to take afew moments to explain alittle more about myself and give thanks to everyone for their super fast responses and helpful and sometimes brutal tips regarding my land rover experience ( in particular with my 98 disco). For the record if everyone must know. I do not have a computer! I access this lovely website via my Android HTC desire cell phone. Secondly I live in Cannon NH! A perfect place for owning a land rover and the worst place for cell phone service. Any post I make on this website is a miracle considering I always have one bloody bar to work with! That means all the pages load slowly and downloading links, videos and raves is a royal pain in my behind! I figured since I'm an active member here with 40+ post and rising fast, I'd best let the community in on my method of communication. If I had a computer, I'd be doing extensive research on/for my discovery, downloading all raves and printing out everything! So I'm not trying to be a dink by asking you guys loads of questions, its just convent to get relevant fast answers right from my cell phone via you guys! Thanks for all your help! This is the very first forum I have.committed to, and spent more than two hours on! This is also my very first land rover so being here and receiveing your support is much apreicated! Forgive theocation of this post, I wanted to be sure many people I frequently recieave tips from get the chance to read this.

PS: do us all a favor and do not ever recommend I give up on my land rover because of gas, repairs needed or money cost! I knew this before I bought the rig. I love it and I'm not going back! Weather I keep this disco or buy another land... I'm sticking with the family so get used to it? And secondly please do not recommend jeep as a replacement! Such an insult is to be expected on a jeep forum not a rover forum! Thanks for understanding

New Hampshire's not that big, cant you step a few yards in either direction and be in a state with good cellphone reception?

Your right these are the twin states, but cell phone reception is crappy out in the woods and in new Hampshire/Vermont the majority of land is woods. I guess I could get one of those tents you hook on top of your discovery and camp beside a cell tower! My phone is great, but when you start adding in tons of pics, external links and large pdf files, it gets tbad. Posting and replying is about the one thing I can really do with 1 signal bar.

I hear you, I have a iPhone and I use it all the time at work to Mapquest address's and my route is a rural route (FedEx driver) and unless I'm on 3G or at the very least the Edge network I cant use the web on my phone.
But at home we have laptops and our house is wifi.

FedEx rocks. They deliver a fair amount of my rover parts! Lol. Well good that someone understands my situation then.

Good luck with the cell reception. And good luck with the Disco. With patience and great money management practices you and your Disco will be just fine.

they are working on creating a mobile version of this forum. that should help with load times. I'm testing out a mobile version of my clubs forum and it loads very fast.

I know what its like, Brother. I live in the betwixt area of Maine and love being able to get down to my camp and other camp roads without worrying about ripping a shaft off or losing a tyre.

The beauty of my Rover is the fact that with buying parts (being luckily close to RovahFarm) and the simplicity of doing my own work with the aid of RAVE and the fine, yet somewhat ascerbic, Rover techs on here. I feel its better than having something I have to drag to a mechanic everytime I need repairs. Its like my old Dodge M-37, easy to get around in and under if need arises.

Cheers,
Eoghan

I agree with the Jeep comment's, sometime people on the forum make rude reply's to some one just looking for help. The fact is we are all Rover Nuts that's why we are here. All helpful advise is greatly appreciated. Everyone who gives good advise and sincere recommendations should feel good about them self's, all other who get angry (you know who you are) should just keep it to them self's. If you want to take on a Rover with high miles and make it good again You THE MAN. I'm just saying....
