Fresh D1 Build; Need recommendations for lift & tires

OK, so I picked up another D1 locally, 119K miles, zero rust, 2 owner Florida truck

I didn't have a plan at first but now have decided to make into a light wheeler build for my old man

I want to get a decent 2-3" lift & tires but don't want to hack up the bodywork or have any rubbing, need input for 2-3" lift and tire setups please!!

She will be going on my spare set of black XD wheels, should look good

It really is a nice example of an unmolested D1

I bought it with the potential of being a daily driver but we need another capable truck for the woods, I will do my best to keep it in good shape!

I disagree sir, this is Florida we're talking about (Sand & Mud)

Need ground clearance and surface area!

I guess I'd to whatever AbnMike did. That seemed to work out pretty darn well. :):):):):disco::disco::disco:

Lift is fine then, but I stand by what I said. Skinny tires when aired down have a longer footprint, prefer that over lateral footprint on wide tires. If Camel can do it on military tires you can do it on modern ones with all the convenience and improvement since the 1990s.

If the diameter is the same how does it have a longer foot print?

Also the Camel Trophy teams drove those trucks with zero cares on damage.

Oh and on the original question, 2" lift from your favorite flavor with new shocks. (Been eyeballing the new Terra firma adjustables. )

The no trim part makes tire size a bit harder. I would look at 265/75 first but I have a feeling that would require a trophy cut on the rear fender well.

So I would take a look at a 265/70r16. About a inch shorter and should give zero issues.

You picked up a stock grey ghost, nice find. Why not Biltein shocks, damper/OME springs. You'll get 2in lift, throw on some tires and you'll have one very capable truck without ruining it.
