Fun with windows
Well I got around to fixing my window this morning. After a trip to lowes and home depot I think I got the parts together to replace that regulator roller. First I ground down the rivet that held the old roller in place on the end of the bar that lifts the window.

Then I drilled out the old rivet, came out pretty easy. Next I assembled the parts. I used a carriage bolt, two nuts, a small washer and two 1" nylon washers. This is how it looked before I ground down the top of the carriage bolt and tightened everything up.

This is after some grinding and I'm sure irritating a few neighbors.

And then back on the arm contraption....

I un-crimped one of the sides of the slide that holds this to the bottom of the window, then re-crimped once inside. It is now back in the vehicle and seems to work fine. I still need to get some lock tight and use on the bolt holing it to the arm as well as use a dremel cutting bit to take about a 1/4" off the bolt. The window binds a little when fully closed due to the back of the bolt scraping against the inside of the door. But all of that can be done while it's in there, I'm also gonna get a grease gun and use it on the channel this guy slides around in on all my windows. Nice to know if another breaks I can fix it for a few dollars but if I can avoid the whole process with a little grease why not? Okay well hopefully this might help somebody sometime....

I would have just ordered the part Spike recommended but from reading the site you need to take it to a shop and have it riveted back in place(or own a rivet gun i suppose). So $30 plus shipping plus what the shop charges and the possibility any of the others could go at anytime discouraged me a bit. So hopefully this works for a while.
