Okay now I have to chime in, regardless whether you're right or not about the trick... I've tried it twice and I still get overflow and gurgling issues. Not every fill up, and not at every gas station.

Did you make sure to pour it down the little breather tubes beside the main fuel vent (where the gas goes)?

It happened to a friends '99 Disco I, and the trick took two attempts before the gurgling and over flowing problem finally disappeared. It was tricky pouring it into the little tubes, but a paper cone allowed us to get the cleaner into the holes.

I remember a recall on some disco I's for replacing the fuel tank for leakage. might want to check with LR and see if it has been done on your vehicle

The vent clogs with varnish the bits inside that need to move to vent can't. The injector cleaner dissolves the crud and lets it vent again. Eventually I suppose it won't work anymore, but I wouldn't replace it until then.

Yes. And I used a clear tube from Ace Hardware to assist in making sure I was getting into the holes (sometimes you have to put some hair on it..)

Honestly, it does seem to work for a while..

And I think my tank had been replaced. Not sure with what though, had a slight hiccup today when replacing the rubber tank seal. The guy swears the part he gave me is the right part. But it is obviously NOT the same part I removed. Is it possible the tank was replaced with one from a different model? ???

All of the gas tanks were replaced under a recall back in the late '90's.
They did not vent properly and would collapse and crack and leak around the fuel pump ring.
If yours has not been replaced under the recall you live on a small island in the middle of nowhere.

my tank has a small plastic vent tube with a quick connect, I disconnected it with gas cap off and blew some air into it, also blew some air into where it was hooked into the filler neck, well ...... heard a loud bang figured I f'ed up the sendor checked it all ok, walk around the front and see black pellets on the bumper hmm strange, open the hood and a huge mess activated charcoal everywhere I blew out the side of the charcoal canister uggh mess is cleaned up and now I need a canister, still no idea if I resolved the issue

You weren't just satisfied with doing the injector cleaner trick were you?

Mine actually hadn't been done, found out when my buddy at the dealer ran the vin. Took it in 6 months later and they changed it.
