Default Guage Install

Since my 95 is pre OBDll and I can't have an ultraguage I will have to go old school to monitor. I have seen the pods that go on top of dash and where the tray is on top center of dash might be an option for 3 VDO guages.

I also ran across this that looks like it would fit very nicely where the flimsy cup holder tray was before it broke. Not sure how it would mount but it looks like perfect size for that spot. Also not sure if these guages are too small to see from that distant.

Any thoughts?

Does your '95 have the speakers in the A-pillar? If not, maybe that would be a good place to put some gauges? They'll be smaller, but pretty easy to see up there.

I found this blog where the guy has a nice supplementary gauge setup... overland-rovers.com » Engine monitoring

Includes oil temp/pressure, water temp, EGT, and a low coolant alarm.

I think I'm going to do the same setup. I was never a fan of those round gauges.

those digital jams are pretty slick. i plan on mounting my 3 gauges on top of the dash, there really isnt a "best" spot that 3 gauges will fit. i bought glowshift gauges, the ones you linked are mechanical and im not a fan of running fluids into the cabin. i'll probabky have it all done sometime this week.

oh, and my 2" gauges wont fit int he cupholder spot without making using the tcase shifter a chore.. i think those are smaller though.

Just ordered the 3 guage set. I like the fact that at least it appears to be a perfect fit for the location where the cup holder tray and that the dial faces are very similar to stock look. Not sure how it mounts but I'm thinking some industrial velcro or expoxy.

I read reviews of others that bought this setup and it seems it comes with everything needed to install. I'll shoot some pics when I get it in. Hell I only spent $36 delivered.

If it doesn't work I'll go the top of dash route.

I also want to do the clock swap. Is the RRC clock an exact fit where our digital clock is?

I can't believe what a perfect fit this is! I finally got lucky for once. The top of flange of the housing slides right into the groves of the cup holder. Looks like they made this for the Disco!

Now all I got to do is figure out how to run all these cables and hoses thru the firewall.

You can still operate the transfer case with them hanging there?

Yeah plenty room, the angle of the camera makes it look tight. There's actually a good 5-6" between them.

Now I need to put something in this wasted slot. Ideas?
