Default Help identifying a plug

Was setting up roverguage onto my car. Working well i gotta say
But while trying to locate the correct plug i stumbled onto this plug with some loop in it.
It appears to be connecting 2 black wires together. Earth i assume.

The plug is located under the glove box where the cruise control ecu among other things is located.

Basically i was interested to identify what this plug is used for?

It's a ground plug. There are quite a few of them located around the truck

So that is factory?
Seems very shotty to me.
Why didnt they just make a male plug to suit and earth it that way similar to the diag plug you connect your roverguage to?
Im still left wondering what that plug is for. Like some sort of addon or something?
The plug appears to be factory so there is some purpose.

Yeah it's probably for some add on that you don't have. Makes it easy to add later if you want to. Of course you'll have to look at a schematic to find out what it's actually for.

Quite embarrassed actually.
When i noticed this loop i thought it was in an open plug with an earth loop.
Turns out this picture is the male side of the plug only and is a permanent loop.
I assume its some sort of diag plug.
Given i have not owned the car long and have encountered quite a few jobs done by other people that were shotty i just figured this was another one.

Im still unsure of what this plug does exactly however now knowing it is plugged correctly i am not worried about it.

Thankyou for your help.
