How do you take caps off the lugs nuts

Admittedly I used my air gun when I first went to take them off. Thanks to that incident I have one lug that the cap is messed up. I am looking to do a wider setup down the road so for now I am keeping the capped version. I would think you could cut them off with a cut off wheel.
