Idle problem
97 land roverWhen taking foot off gas pedal rpms drop way down to the point when it wants to stall. No obd codes show up. Any help on what to check will be appreciated.

Throttle cable adjustment or IAC is my guess.

if you havent already
spray out the intake de carbon the engine with seafoam replace PCV hoses and clean the valves did you use lower octane gas recently? |
Also get your battery tested. Had the same happening to me last summer.

Just corrected a similar issue by cleaning IACV, clean the pintle shiny and bright but take care to not change its adjustment, and make sure you get in there and clean the bore. IACV pounds the oil coming in from the crankcase breather into asphalt, and can cause all sorts of idle weirdness, will be adding an oil separator
