Default Improving stopping.

I just flushed all my brake fluid, it was black. I have found my truck stops fine, but sometimes when I need that little extra OH SH!@ Nothing changes.

Im hoping the brake fluid helps. But I wouldn't mind getting some new pads. Can anyone reccomend any pads? Id like some type of performance or increased braking as Im getting larger tires soon. I dont care if they wear fast.

Perhaps Brembo pads would be good. But if you want to improve stopping I'd say the best would be to use drilled/slotted rotors but they tend to wear faster if you off-road a lot.

without upgrading the brake calipers..honestly your brake improvements are questionable...biggest thing you can do right now is get some good EBC pads...

I will throw in another vote for EBCs... I have dimpled/slotted on the front and brembo cross drilled on the back...love them.

I'm running drilled/slotted rotors on all 4($160 e-bay cheapies) with autozone pads in back and ebc's up front. It made a definite noticible diffrence, especially when towing.

I am looking into some improved rotors and pads all the way around. Went offroading a while back and did not think I was pushing the pedal all that much, when I stopped up air back up I noticed the rotors/pads were smoking a bit. Granted I do not know what is on mine as they were installed by the PO. I have always taken the road of performance vs factory whenever replacing brakes. Usually the cost in negligible and the benifit is great.

It is that simple, I drive for a living, it really is that simple.

The brakes on my FedEx van are of the stock variety, NAPA pads and OEM rotors.
I dont have any problems stopping my van, and I do it all day everyday in all kinds of weather, from being overloaded to empty, slow down and anticipate stops.

I have the OEM rotors and Duralast middle of the road pads on my Rover and I have no problems, even while pulling my M101 Army trailer.

Thats my $.02
