Hey all,
One of my local Junk Yards has a 1997 Disco XD yes the 1 of 250 made yellow monster with all the stickers.
Anyhow.
I already bought the skid plate, what was left of the wheels and the little special vehicle plate from under the hood but what about the axles?
I have read some people saying the axles on the XD's have a larger ring and pinion in a stock axle housing is this true?
Sadly the roof rack, bull bar, tail light guards, off-road lights and rear ladder all got dented or broken by the yard and later trashed.

This one just looks to be tired, it's not rolled and does not look to have had an overly hard offroad life.
Judging by the tires most of its life has been spent on road I think someone just got tired of fixing things and scrapped it without knowing
I can ask if they will sell it but this yard is rather known for being hard asses when it come to resale after it hits the yard.
In the yard I have found a 1959 Cadillac Eldorado convertible, 55 Tbird, 67 Mustang Fastback, Land Cruiser 70! all kinds of stuff.
Hell they have a Discovery II with the VIN that ends in 000006 that should make that one of the first 6 how did that end up in America?
This is the same yard that use to scrap HEMI cars and sell the motors for 50 bucks pulled.
According to the owner of the yard they use to have a pile of 426's, 427's, 429's, 454's, 460's you name it. If it was 60's and big block they had it $50 a pop in the 70's
This yard has done many crimes to many rare cars over the years but I guess when you have been around since 1909 things happen.
